Been a long time.....

Nothing new within the past 6 months (well nothing new under the sun).. Back to blogging as it's been another period of working from home measure, so I kinda have more times to blog lol.

Following the mirin project, I'd like to share the Japanese winter comfort food i.e. Oden. It is a hawker food, izakayas thingy, simple "soup" yet rich in "umami" taste wkwk.

So my husband has a cold today, then I need to prepare something warm, simple and umami. During this pandemic (which is getting worse day by day here), perhaps you might as well consider simple comfort food like oden.

Here it goes, Oden.

Highlighted issues:

1. Indeed dashi is a must. If you don't have dashi, alternatively you may use oyster sauce with bonito flakes.

2. Mirin as one of the condiments (because this is my mirin project wkwk). However, if you don't have mirin, you may skip this part.

3. Fishcakes selection. Find the best and your most favorite fishcakes only.

4. Radish is kinda essential. If you don't like it, you may also skip this part, boiled egg is enough.

Enjoy the hearty nabemono, and get well soon lol.
