Facing a "new normal" era, I then created this blog. Particularly to share my eating and cooking experiences. Been a huge fan of delish food since kids, especially Chinese-Indonesian, French, Japanese and cucina Italiana. First role model chef was Yoichi - a fictional character from "Born To Cook" anime back in the '90s. Subsequently, unintentionally learned how to cook from le Grandma until such time (apprx. 15 years ago) I read about Julia Child on the internet and saw things differently - officially her fan. Have tried some of her favourites e.g.: Boeuf Bourguignon and Coq Au Vin, and will definitely re-cook those faves again for the upcoming years because they're so Oishi wkwk.
Started my younger years by cooking Indonesian food, has made it easier for me to cook almost anything since then. As complicated a french cooking can be, Indonesian cooking is way (waaayy) more complicated. Let's say "semur ayam" or "rendang", so many herbs and spices involved in just one stew. But then again, it's fun to play with the herbs and spices. Don't forget that Manhattan was traded in exchange for one of our spice islands back in the colonial times. Due to my long working hours as a consultant, I put my cooking ambition - if not obsession - on hiatus (only cook for the fun weekend or not at all), and then our enemy covid-19 came and changed everything. Positive side of the quarantine is that I can have (a little) more time to express my passion for food by eating and cooking. Back to the old days, I cook everyday for myself (indeed) and my husband. I dedicate my food just for me and my husband - not for commercial purposes. Hope everyone can also enjoy the art of eating and cooking.
