Having reviewed my recent cookings, I think this one is worth to be published as I have not really taken into consideration any kind of Korean food, before. To be honest, Korean thingy is new to me, just because I was crazy about Parasite the movie last year. It was my first Korean movie ever and it was stunning. No wonder Parasite ended up with the Best Screen Play on Oscar - still remember how I massively praised Parasite on Twitter in 2019. So just when my quarantine days began in March, I then tried to join the hype of Korean dramas and movies. Indeed, carefully selected to only the most handsome guy I saw on the cast (PSJ oppa haha), meh, story-wise? don't expect anything near to Parasite (even though PSJ was a cameo in Parasite). Interestingly, I realized that many Korean dramas vividly displaying their eating (and drinking) culture. Can't lie, their eating and drinking scenes were really really hit me right in my very heart (and belly). Similar to what I feel everytime I re-watch the Godfather - that caused my cravings to Cucina Italiana, Korean movies gave me more cravings over things I've never seen before, but convinced that it will be delish LOL. Well, here is one of those things.

I've always imagined eating this chicken in 2 flavors i.e.: sweet and spicy - and it is. I have not really done my research on the original recipe of this chicken, but improvised a bit by adding Japanese mirin. Well, I like my version of this Yamnyeong-tongdak. Really nice for a lunch, dinner (with Japonica rice) or munching with Soju while chit-chatting with your husband or dogs. I also think this one is good for a home-party finger food.

Preparing the fried chicken is the longest part compared to the sauce, since it requires the marinating process, cornstarch coating and 2 times fried methods i.e.: the browning and the deep fried. Don't forget to wash your hands first - if you prepare it for the people outside of your household, I strongly recommend you to use a food-grade gloves. Well, this is my first Korean food, and it's not failed LOL. Will definitely make other Korean food. When I write "Korea", note that I'm referring to the South Korea. For the love of food, happy eating and cooking.

Saranghaeooo....
